Sarah Stallings, horn, was a student of Eberhard Ramm at the Blair School of Music in Nashville, Tennessee. She spent two summers at Tanglewood in Massachusetts, one studying with the Empire Brass Quintet and one in the Young Artists Instrumental Program, where she studied with Richard Mackey. There, she had her first experience
with woodwind quintet, playing with other Tanglewood students in a very fun, ice cream-eating group under the direction of Dan Katzen. After a 20-year hiatus from the horn spent studying chemistry and molecular biophysics, working in the chemical industry and in academia, riding bikes, getting married, taking up ice hockey, and having babies, she is happy to be back and playing with another very fun woodwind quintet.
